Take a lesson with our professional instructors to learn or improve your skiing or snowboarding skills. Private lessons and Sierra Scout group lesson packages are available through the Diamond Peak Ski & Ride Center for youth ages 7 – 12.
Children ages 3 – 6 are taught through Diamond Peak’s Child Ski & Ride Center.
Lesson Reservations
All Ski & Ride Center lessons must be booked in advance. A paid reservation is necessary to guarantee all lessons. All products are subject to availability and may reach capacity at any time. Cancellation fees apply for all lessons. Parents must stay on property for the duration of the lesson.
Group Ski/Snowboard Lessons
Book group lessons online at least two days in advance.
Private Ski or Snowboard Lessons
Call to book private lessons at least 72 hours in advance. If the reservation line is busy, leave a voicemail and an agent will contact you in the order received to book your lesson and take payment over the phone. You can generally expect a phone call or reply within 72 hours.
Within 72 hours, if there is availability, private lessons must be booked in person.
Rental Equipment
Rentals are not included in lesson packages for ages 7+ so make sure you book your first day of rentals online. If you are using the rental equipment for more than one day you will pay for additional days at the Rental Shop when you pick up your gear on the first day.
Arrival Time
All advance purchases with rentals should be redeemed at the Rental Shop. Skip the ticket line in the Plaza and go directly to the Rental Shop!
We recommend that you arrive at the Rental Shop 1 hour before your lesson start time for midweek/non-peak (Monday – Friday) lessons, 1.5 hours on weekends (Saturday – Sunday) and 2 hours on peak periods (dates listed above). Please budget extra time to find a parking spot, get dressed, walk or take the tram from your car, and use the restroom before getting to the Rental Shop. Plan additional time and bring extra patience on snowy days and busy weekends. For afternoon lessons, please plan to arrive at the rental shop by 9:30 a.m. on weekends and peak days to ensure we have the appropriate size gear for you – after 9:30 a.m. we cannot guarantee all sizes will be available.
After you pick up your rentals and lesson ticket, please proceed to the lesson meeting area on the snow (look for the colored flags and signs near Lakeview chairlift) to meet the Ski & Ride Center staff and instructors about 10 to 15 minutes before your lesson start time.
Group Lesson Levels
Our staff will assist you in determining the correct level for you or your child, and evaluate at the beginning of the lesson to ensure you are in the proper level. Visit the Lesson Levels explained section for a description of all the levels offered.
Sierra Scout Group Lessons (ages 7-12)
This winter we will offer small group ski or snowboard lessons for all levels of children ages 7-12. Package includes a 1 hour 45 minute lesson and all-mountain lift ticket. Rentals are not included but can be booked online.

Sierra Scout All Day Adventure (ages 7-12)
The all day program is a small group ski or snowboard lesson program for all levels of children ages 7-12. The all day package includes morning and afternoon group lessons, all-mountain lift ticket and lunch. Rentals are not included but can be booked online. This program begins at 10:00 a.m. and runs through 4:00 p.m.

Private Lessons (for ages 7+)
Get the most from personal ski or snowboard instruction. All private lessons are available for 1-5 people of similar ability and same discipline. Includes instruction only – rental equipment and lift tickets must be purchased separately. All private lessons are subject to availability.
Multi-Week Programs
Multi-week programs are conducted on weekdays in partnership with our local schools and youth programs. Please contact your site organizer for details and registration at the end of November.
